NATIONAL AWARDS FOR E-GOVERNANCE

 

Municipal Reforms Cell, Directorate of Municipal Administration has won the Bronze Award for the project “Aasthi (GIS based property tax information” in National Awards for e-Governance" under the category - "Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering" for the year 2010-2011 by the  Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DAR&PG) & Department of Information Technology, Government of India.

 

This award seeks to recognise the best-in-class projects that involved analysis and re-design of workflow and aimed at improvement in outcomes related to efficiency, effectiveness of process, cost, quality, service delivery or a combination of these.

 

Information areas :

 

  • Extent to which reengineered process is unique, compared to other common process reengineering efforts
  • Process workflows – before (As-Is) and after (To-Be) reengineering; changes in activities and their sequencing; level of automation
  • Process performance in terms of efficiency and effectiveness indicators, such as cycle time, service output, service quality, citizen satisfaction, etc.
  • Excellence factor in reengineering: agency perception versus beneficiary perspective
  • Impact on beneficiaries and agency
  • Current issues and future plans

 

The Award was presented by H.E. Governor of Maharashtra in the inaugural session of the 14th National Conference on e-Governance 2010-2011 on 10th February,  2011 at CIDCO Natyagruha Auditorium, Aurangabad.

 

 

BEST PRACTICES SYMPOSIM AND BEST URBAN LOCAL

BODY AWARD – 2010

 

Urban Development Department in association with City Managers’ Association, Karnataka since 2004 is striving hard to enhance and build the capacities of the city managers and ULBs in service delivery.  The best Practice program comprises of following components. They are :

 

·         Best Practices Documentation – A catalogue named: Initiatives in Urban Sector…Karnataka”

·         Best Practice Citation Ceremony – Identifying the best initiatives and conferring them with cash and certificates for encouragement.

·         Best Practice Transfer Program – Creating a forum for ULBs to exchange their ideas and learn from others success to bring changes in their areas for betterment.

 

168 Initiatives were received from the ULBs and line departments. The Expert panel of 9 members was constituted. The panel comprises of experts and field practitioners across the nation. 42 initiatives are documented under the catalogue. Of these, best 9 initiatives have been shortlisted for the awards by the jury members using scientific criteria. Also special awards are been constituted for recognizing and encouraging Town Municipal Council and Town Panchayat.

 

Municipal Reforms Cell, Directorate of Municipal Administration has won 1st prize under the category Line Department for Computerisation of Municipal Functions Best Practices Symposium and Citation Ceremony 2010.
